Hardware Basics

Measurements
Please keep in mind that all measurements are in millimeters. Please use the diagrams below to assist you.

Handles
Handles are installed with two screws. This is very important to keep in mind especially if you are replacing handles. The hole spacing will need to be measured in order to purchase an exact replacement. Their dimensions vary so please pay careful attention to the handle you have selected. Please keep in mind the projection for drawer and door clearances.
top
Knobs
Knobs are installed with a single screw. Their dimensions are diameter x projection. Please keep in mind clearances for doors and drawers.
top
Pulls
Pulls are installed with two screws like the handles. If you want to replace an old handle or pull exactly, please remember to measure the hole spacing.
top
Backplates
Backplates are used with your handles or knobs. They are placed between the door or drawer and the handle or knob. Backplates are installed with two screws like a handle. If you want an exact match to the existing holes please measure the hole spacing. You can also use backplates to cover existing holes for your new handle or knob.

Screws
Ordering your screws.
Screws are not included with your decorative hardware, for a very good reason. Every job site is unique, the thickness of the door or drawer varies greatly, if we were to include standard screws, many of you would be disappointed because the screws would be either too long or too short, so for your ease and convenience you can order them separately to obtain exactly what you need. To determine the screw length add 1/4 inch or 6mm to the thickness of the door or drawer front. We only sell screws in box quantities of 100. If you decide you do not want extra screws available in your personal tool supply, you can find the screws you will need at any local hardware store. The sizes you will need are very common. Please be sure you make a count of how many you need and add a few extra in case of damage or breakage during installation.

Installation
When you are installing your new hardware please keep this in mind, don't over tighten the screw, you will damage the screw beyond use and make it ugly. You also might damage the decoratrive hardware as well as the door or drawer front.
